Why
Orphans & Why Kenya? |
 |
AIDS
is spreading rampantly through-out much of sub-Saharan Africa,
and children are left as orphans as a result. Many of these
children have no one to care for them, and they end up in
the streets scavenging for food and shelter. God has called
us out to go to Kenya, East Africa to not only meet the physical
and emotional needs of some of these children, but also to
share with them the gospel of Jesus Christ and to equip them
to be pro-ductive citizens of Kenya and the Kingdom of God. |
 |
Kenya
is a strategic location because it affords us relative
stability
in a part of the world that is fraught with disease, |
war,
famine, and poverty. Refugees from Sudan, Ethiopia and
Somalia seek relief in neighboring Kenya. It is our desire
to minister
not only to Kenyan orphans, but also to many of these refugee
children, some of whom are orphaned or abandoned. |

 |
"Religion
that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to
look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself
from being polluted by the world." (James 1:27) |
 |
We
believe God will allow us to minister to Kenyan widows by employing
them to help care for the orphans. Pray that we will keep ourselves
from being polluted by the world! |
