Greetings One and All,
The teams going to Haiti finally got on their way at 3:45a.m., only 15 minutes behind schedule.  We had over 60 pieces of luggage to load on a 50 passenger bus.  We had to put some luggage in the bus in order to get it all.
I have had my first report from Drs Cain and everything went smoothly in Orlando.  The luggage made it through TSA and there were no problems at the ticket counter.
I received a second call from Dr. Carolyn Cain at 10:07a.m. from Miami, FL, to let me know that all team members for all three teams (total of 35 people) where in their seats and ready for take off to Port au Prince Haiti.  I should be hearing from someone in Haiti later this afternoon.  I will try to send another e-mail when I hear from them.

God bless you, Danny

HOUSTON, THE EAGLE HAS LANDED”.  Dr. Carolyn Cain called about 10 minutes ago to let me know that they had arrived not only in Haiti, but have made it all the way to Les Cayes, Haiti without any problems.  The Team will spend the night in Les Cayes tonight and then head for St. Martin tomorrow.
The Trinity and Wings teams have arrived in Port au Prince, Haiti and they are on their way to Gonaives, Haiti via bus on a very bad (full of pot holes) road.
The trip will take 4-6 more hours.  It will be later tonight or tomorrow before we hear from them.  But they are safely in Haiti.  I will try to update you tomorrow on their progress if we can get through to Pastor Joshua in Gonaives.
Sleep tight everyone! All your loved ones are safe. PRAISE THE LORD!
God bless you, Danny

Greeting to you in the name of the Lord!
THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE, I WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT!
Tom Schmidt, director of Haiti Missions for Harvest International, called me last night at about 9:30p.m and informed me that he had heard from Nathaniel Kitchens, one of the Trinity team members.  Both teams (Trinity & Wings) arrived in Gonaives, Haiti after a very long afternoon of travel which included a flat tire.  There is no AAA in Haiti and getting a tire repaired on a bus is somewhat of a challenge.  However, the Lord provided what was needed and the teams are there.
The day will start with Church for all three teams and then lunch.  Cain team will travel to St. Martin today and will arrive mid to late afternoon.  They will set up where they will be spending the next 5 days and make plans for their first Mosquito Net deliveries.  They are “PRAYED UP” and ‘READY”.
The Trinity team will check to see the lumber that they have and formulate a plan for building 7 tables for the children of In His Hands Orphanage.  Tom Schmidt reported that some of the lumber that is available is “rough cut”.  I know what that means here in the U.S. but it Haiti it could be lumber with bark still on it.  Just kidding, I’m sure it will be a challenge but this team is prepared for whatever the challenges are.  They are “PRAYED UP” and “READY”.
The Wings team will get a tour of the hospital at Ebenezer missions today and will make plans for setting up for dental and medical clinics.   Tomorrow they will start seeing patients and praying for those who are sick.  The goal will be to minister to several hundred people over a 4 day period.  They are also scheduled to take a one day journey to a remote village and hold clinic there.  They are “PRAYED UP” and “READY”.
I have sent all this information to everyone so that you can be involved.  Although there are 3 different teams they are all ONE in the LORD.  I would ask that each of you that get this e-mail not only pray for the person that you know and the team they are with, but that you also pray for the other teams as well.  God knows who’s on what team, just pray for the other teams as well.
Thank you for your PRAYERS and participation.

God bless you, Danny

Good Morning to all,
One of our board members received an e-mail from Gonaives early this morning but it was written yesterday.
“Hello Tom,
Thanks for your respond.  Always good to hear from you.
Yes, we have the teams with us at the mission.  Such a joy to see some of them I have met before.  They have been enjoying  themselves so far.  The church services This morning  and tonight have been very impressive and people really got touched.  This morning the team led by Cecil stay at the church at the farm where we live and the one led by Nathaniel went to be with past. Charlie's church. But tonight both teams went to worship in our church in the city. And your best translator in Gonaives has done a wonderful job translating in both services and assist in whatever way I can so far. And now they are getting ready to start the week tomorrow.”

No word yet from the St. Martin team.  I hope to hear something later today or tonight.

Good morning everyone,
We received two reports yesterday and it looks like things are going well, Praise the Lord.
First Pastor Joshua, from Gonaives, called Tom Schmidt to let him know how the teams were doing.
Trinity worked at In His Hands orphanage building tables and other things and repairing things around the orphanage. Today the team will work on the building that will become the new home for Charlie’s Champions.  The women’s seminar is going very well and the number of women in attendance is more than expected.  Pastor Joshua is very excited about what the ladies are learning.
The Wings dental and medical teams are both very busy with very large crowds.   Both are very excited about being able to minister to so many people both physically and spiritually.
Dr. John Cain called in last night at 8:48p.m to file his first report from St. Martin.  The team from Vanguard visited 40 homes and set up 80 mosquito nets during the day.  The doctors, with the help of the students, held a mini clinic and saw over 20 very sick patients in just a couple of hours.  The good, good, news is that 5 people received the Lord.
Well that’s it for now.  We hope to have our webpage updated today and will post all of the updates, in order, on the blog page. To get to that page just visit harvestinternational.org and click on “blogs” at the top right side of the home page.
God bless you, Danny

Greetings to all,
I have waited until late today to send this update in hopes that we would hear from each of the teams as they finish up their projects.  It has been difficult for us to get through on the phone to Haiti today.  Each time we have attempted to call we have been cut off.  Tom Schmidt has talked with Pastor Joshua but only for a few seconds, not long enough to ask a question, and has been cut off.  It has been difficult for them to get in touch with us as well for some reason.
Last night we were able to talk with Nathaniel Kitchens for a few minutes and he reported to us that a couple of the team members had suffered “heat exhaustion” from working in the heat and not drinking enough fluids.  At last report both team members were responding well to rest and lots of water to drink.  Please pray for them as they finish their task today and that they all drink lots of fluids.
We have not heard from the Cain team in a couple of days.  It has been my experience that “no news” is “good news” when it comes to mission teams.  Please pray for them as well as they finish hanging the last nets that they have and prepare to return.
Trinity and Wings teams will be on the road tomorrow traveling to Port au Prince.  If they get back in time they will spend a little time seeing some of areas of interest in Port and having a good dinner before getting a good bath or shower (probably the first one of the trip) and a good night's rest.  We think that the bus from Orlando with all the team members will arrive at Trinity Baptist Church in Ocala somewhere between 4-5 p.m.  I am sure that those who have cells phones with them will call to let everyone know that they are in the U.S.
This is the last report that will be posted unless we hear something from the team leaders to indicate a change of any kind.
It has been fun keeping you informed on what the teams are doing and I hope that you have benefited by getting these updates.
God bless you, Danny

What a week.  We had a wonderful time in St. Martin.  We distributed over 290 nets, and we visited homes all over the area, from the coast east and west and also to the north in the hills behind the village.  Many villagers prayed to receive Christ, and many new friends have been made.  We have said goodbye to St. Martin, and we are staying overnight in Les Cayes.  Tomorrow at noon we fly from Les Cayes to Port-au-Prince, and Saturday we catch an 8:00am flight to Miami.  Please pray for our safety.
